Estate Planning

Legacy Planning

If you wish to leave behind a meaningful legacy, be it for loved ones or a charitable institution, you need an estate plan. If you don’t decide what you would like to happen, the government has already chosen for you.

Together with your estate planning attorney, we can assist in getting you documents in place and review your situation to make sure your estate benefits the people and charities you care about most.

What We Can Do for You

  • Document Education: We can help you understand your Wills, Trusts, Power of Attorneys, and Advance Directives as they are currently written or why you may want to consider getting these documents if you don’t already have them.
  • Coordinate with Attorney: We can introduce you to the best estate planning attorneys in town and work together with them to make sure your estate is setup properly according to your wishes.
  • Summarize Estate Plan: You may feel like you need to be an attorney to navigate the legal verbiage in your documents. We create an Estate Snapshot that summarizes the key parts of your documents in plain English.
  • Asset Titling and Beneficiary Designations: Estate documents don’t function properly without updating asset titling and beneficiary designations to match your intentions.
  • Estate Review: Certain life events trigger the need to update your existing estate plan. We monitor this with you on an ongoing basis and have this review built into our annual service calendar.
  • Minimize Taxes: We look for opportunities to minimize estate taxes and other fees to maximize the benefit of the beneficiaries.
  • Distribute Your Legacy: We assist in the distribution of your legacy to lighten the administrative burden of your heirs.
